Have You ever wondered, when opening Google Earth on Desktop, there is no Google Earth Labels whatsoever shown on the streets or public buildings or landmarks like Google Maps does. This must be really annoying especially when we do some projects and need some clue about where the location is on Google Earth.
Fortunately, there is a way to make Google Earth shows labels like Google Maps does.
1. Download Maps Overlay File
Nothing easier than just downloading the file. Click here to download the overlays containing all the labels You need.
2. Run it Immediately
Just run it by double clicking it. If the computer prompt You to open with any programs, choose Google Earth.
3. Put it into My Places
After Google Earth opens, You will see a new layer called Map Overlays under Temporary Places on the left. Before using it, You want to move it to My Places, so that it will always be there every time You open Google Earth next time. You can do that by dragging it to My Places section in the top of the Places Panel.
3. Google Earth Labels is Ready to Use
Now since it is ready to use, You only need to click a layer You want to show. If You want Google Earth to show maps like Google Maps does, click on Google Maps.
That is how to change Google Earth Maps to look like Google Maps, so You don’t need to worry about finding places around the shown maps.
